Car Insurance Smart (Car Insurance). Resistor Q -which lead is pos & neg?

Resistor Q -which lead is pos & neg? Im installing led turn signals onto my motorcycle and was wondering which lead coming out of the resistor is for the positive lead and which is for the negative lead. The diameter is sightly different as well as the metal conductor tips are of different shape here is a link to what is very similar to what I have : http://www.idealhere.com/25W-6-Ohm-LED-Signal-Turn-Blinker-Bulbs-Load-Resistors_p53.html Thanks for your input...also what are those 2 screw holes used for on the resistor am I supposed to ground it??

The holes are for mounting. There is no + or - lead for a resistor. It doesn't matter which way you install it. The y may be different shapes depending on what you are using them for. Just tape the one you don't need back. because it is set up for an LED, it has to be polarized. the positive and negative wires are of great importance in that situation. incorrect direction and you have no lights. as for the metal tabs, that is so that you can mount that to the vehicle and it will not shake or vibrate loose.

Smart . How to Adjust Carburetor Air Screws

Carburetor air screws are used to fine-tune carburetors. The air screw is a small 5-mm slotted brass adjustment screw. It is located on the inlet or air filter side of the carburetor. The position of the screw allows a certain amount of air into the carburetor when the engine starts, during idling, and during the initial power delivery while driving. Carburetor air screws need to be adjusted when an engine doesn't idle properly. This fine-tuning of an engine is a straightforward process that anyone can do.
Difficulty:Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Small screwdriver

Step by Step :
1
Turn on your vehicle. Allow it to warm up to the proper operating temperature. Turn the screw to turn the idle up to 500 RPMs higher than normal.
2
Tighten the air-screw all the way.
3
Start to loosen the screw. Make 1/4 turn and wait 15 seconds for the engine's idle to adjust to the change. Keep making 1/4 turns and pausing for 15 seconds until the engine starts to idle at the highest RPM reading. This is usually accomplished within one to two full turns of the adjustment screw.

Smart . How to Adjust a Carburetor for Air Fuel

A carburetor typically has an air speed adjustment screw, located on or near the choke rod next to the carburetor barrel and either two or four fuel mixture idle adjustment screws on both sides of the carburetor barrel near the base. The air and fuel adjustment screws need to be set evenly in order for the carburetor to gain the most fuel mileage and power in the engine. You can adjust the air fuel screws on the carburetor yourself in less than an hour and save money.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Open-end wrench
Screwdriver
Vacuum gauge

Step by Step :
1
Take the nut off the top of the air cleaner with an open-end wrench and remove the air cleaner assembly from the top of the carburetor. Locate the air speed adjustment screw and the fuel mixture idle adjustment screws on the carburetor.
2
Turn the air speed adjustment screw clockwise with a screwdriver until it is all the way closed. Do not over-tighten the screw, just enough until you feel resistance.
3
Adjust the air speed screw by turning it back, counterclockwise one and a half turns. Adjust the fuel mixture idle adjustment screws by turning them clockwise until they are completely closed and turning them all back, two and a half turns counterclockwise.
4
Remove the rubber vacuum hose from the base of the carburetor and attach a vacuum gauge to the metal port. Start the engine and let it warm up until the choke on the carburetor opens up all the way.
5
Adjust each of the fuel mixture idle adjustment screws, turning the screws a quarter turn at a time and alternating back and forth until they all read about 850 rpm on the vacuum gauge. Readjust the air speed adjustment screw to read 850 rpm.
6
Readjust each of the fuel mixture idle adjustment screws and air speed adjustment screw, alternating between each one and turning the screws a quarter turn at a time until they all read near 850 rpm without the engine stalling out. Set all the adjustment screws at the closest rpm to 850 they can all run, while the carburetor is running smoothly.
7
Remove the vacuum gauge from the metal port and reattach the rubber vacuum hose. Connect the air cleaner assembly to the top of the carburetor with the nut and shut the engine off.
Tips & Warnings
Watch for any moving engine parts when attempting to adjust the carburetor with the motor running.

On most other vehicles with rear-wheel drive and V-8 engines, the #1 cylinder is up front on the driver's side, with #3, #5, and #7 proceeding toward the rear of the vehicle. Then #2 is up front on the passenger side, with #4, #6, and #8 following. (See Figure 12-6.) V-6 engines are similar to V-8s. The three odd-numbered plugs are on one side, and the three even-numbered plugs are on the other side, with the lowest-numbered plugs usually up near the radiator. Front-wheel drive vehicles with transverse V-type engines have the #1 cylinder up front on the driver's side, with the odd-numbered cylinders proceeding toward the rear, and #2 up front on the passenger side, with the even-numbered cylinders following (see Figures 12-7 and 12-8). No matter what the engine configuration, the #1 spark plug is always the spark plug in your #1 cylinder. . Smart . You left organic eggs in your car trunk for 8 days are they safe to use?

no! they rot in about 2 days max GMC Canyon Regular Cab.
*
Firing order Don't confuse cylinder sequence with firing order. Although your engine may have its cylinders in simple numerical sequence, if the cylinders were fired in that order, the engine would rock violently as first the cylinders on one side (or toward the front) fired in rapid succession, and then the other cylinders did likewise. To avoid this, the firing order is carefully arranged to distribute the shock of combustion evenly throughout the engine. The cylinders fire in very swift sequence, and the result is a fairly stable engine. A typical firing order for a Ford V-8 engine (with cylinders #1 to #4 on one side and cylinders #5 to #8 on the other) would be #1, #5, #4, #2, #6, #3, #7, #8. The firing order is printed inside each of the engines shown in Figures 12-2 through 12-8. Trace the path of combustion back and forth throughout each of these engines so you can see how the shock of combustion is distributed to avoid rocking the engine. Remember, the whole thing happens very rapidly. '>art'"' ^eeP'n9 ^our Car m G°°d Condition, System by System Removing the spark plugs

To maintain the proper firing order, each spark-plug wire must go from the proper terminal on your distributor cap to the proper spark plug, so before you remove anything, label each wire with its proper number in the cylinder sequence. To label your wires, place a piece of masking tape or a clothespin on the spark plug wire near the boot that covers the tip of each plug. Put the proper cylinder number on each one. If you also label the boot where each wire enters the distributor cap terminal, you'll never be unsure about hooking things up properly. (Of course, if you make it a habit to remove the wire from only one plug at a time and to put it back before you remove another, you won't ever get into trouble — unless another wire comes off accidentally.) One way to royally confuse yourself and make the relatively simple task of changing spark plugs into a nightmare is to pull all your spark plugs out at one time. To keep your sanity and to avoid turning this job into an all-weekend project, work on one spark plug at a time: Remove it, inspect it, clean it, and, if it's salvageable, gap it. Then replace it — before you move on to the next spark

plug. After you label the wires, follow these steps to remove each spark plug: 1. Gently grasp a spark plug wire by the boot, where it connects to the spark plug. Never yank on the wire itself (you can damage the wiring); just grasp the boot, twist it, and pull it straight out so that you can pull it off the plug. The shiny thing sticking out of the engine block is the terminal of the spark plug. Figure 12-10, later in this chapter, shows you all the parts of a spark plug, including the terminal. 2. Use a nice soft rag or a small paint brush to clean around the area where the spark plug enters the block — or you can blow the dirt away with a soda straw. Doing so keeps loose junk from falling down the hole into the cylinder when the plug is removed. 3. Find your spark plug socket (the big one with the rubber lining) and place it down over the spark plug; exert some pressure while turning it slightly to be sure that it's all the way down. Like everything else in auto repair, don't be afraid to use some strength. But do it in an even, controlled manner. If you bang or jerk things, you can damage them, but you'll never get anywhere if you tippy-toe around.
